How do the architectural (AR) and structural (KR) sections differ?

AR (architectural solutions) shows what is located where: walls, windows, doors, rooms, facades. KR (structural solutions) explains how to build it: what foundation, what reinforcement, what beams, how to connect the nodes, what loads each element withstands. Ideally the sections are developed in parallel so the architectural idea is structurally feasible.

Can a house be built from the structural section alone?

Accepted Answer

Partly — yes, you'll get a shell with foundation, walls and floor slabs. But without the architectural section you won't get well-considered planning solutions for the rooms or attractive architecture. In practice builders use the AR + KR set.

Question 3

Is a geological survey needed to design the foundation?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we strongly recommend it. Without geology we build in an increased safety margin (which is 20–40% more expensive) or risk cracks and the house tilting. The minimum set is: soil type, freezing depth, groundwater level (GWL) and the calculated soil resistance.

Can I order only the KR section without the architecture?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can develop the KR section based on another company's AR — but bear in mind that while developing the structural solutions, changes may be introduced into the Architectural Solutions section. It's better to take the package at once: AR + KR.
